"Bit of ciúnas for the musician" - Rose Connolly

Updated: Sep 14, 2021

Every so often, you find an artist who is on the cusp of something extraordinary. You know that their music has its own momentum, and all you can do is enjoy the journey. I believe Co. Fermanagh's Rose Connolly is this artist, if you keep scrolling you'll understand why. Plus, her taste in music is *chef's kiss*

Name: Rose Connolly

Age: 20

Instrument: Piano, voice, banjo, guitar, fiddle

Dream gig to perform/attend: At this stage any gig would be a good gig! Dream gig to attend would be another Kneecap or a Tigran Hamasyan.

What would you consider to be your greatest musical achievement?

Probably recently figuring out what kind of composer I am.

You’re having dinner with three of your musical heroes (dead or alive), who are they? Most importantly, where would you take them?

I would take Pauline Oliveros, John Coltrane and Junior Brother to Carberry's pub in Drogheda.

How would you describe your music in one word?

Inventive

Who are you listening to right now?

Lots of Aphex Twin, Gabriella Smith and going back to Jimi Hendrix.

Check out Rose Connolly Composer on Facebook and be sure to give the Soundcloud a wee nosey for some exciting new projects. Seriously dreamy stuff, you won't be disappointed.
